Rift Designs
A web design studio built as one system: the public site, the lead pipeline, and the admin that runs both.
Rift Designs is a web design studio, and this is the whole of it: the public site that wins the work and the back office that runs it, in one Laravel application.
The front of it is a marketing site — services, pricing, case studies, a contact form that tells you when you will hear back. The interesting half is behind the login. It finds its own leads: give it a trade and a town and it searches Google, Foursquare, OpenStreetMap, HERE and TomTom for businesses with no website, merges the duplicates, and keeps what it finds. Point it at a website instead and it reads the business out of the page — email, phone, address, the kind of business. From there the same system tracks the visit, writes the invoice, and sends the newsletter.
It has no build step. The front end is one hand-written stylesheet and one file of vanilla JavaScript, and everything the visitor sees — the self-drawing hero, the command palette, the site checker that audits any public page in about ten seconds — is progressive enhancement over plain HTML.
